Since the beginning of the year, QTrobot has been working alongside the team at APEI’s Special Education and Home Care Service (SESSAD), helping children build essential skills for focus, communication, and independence.
A Friend Who Never Gets Tired, Never Gets Discouraged
With his cheerful face, calm voice, and patient personality, QTrobot has quickly become a beloved member of the classroom. Each session begins with a warm greeting and playful interaction, QT asks if the child would like to play, then leads them through engaging, educational activities.
Even when a child gives an incorrect answer, QT responds with gentle encouragement and tries again. This predictable, non-judgmental interaction helps children stay calm and focused, creating a safe environment for learning and growth.
A Modern Tool for Traditional Goals
QTrobot wasn’t designed to replace human interaction but to enhance it. By presenting familiar therapeutic activities through a robot, educators can capture and sustain children’s attention more effectively.
Michaël and his team have adapted classic exercises into interactive computer programs that connect directly to QTrobot via a simple touchscreen tablet. During each 30–40 minute session, children practice important cognitive, emotional, and social skills, all while feeling like they’re playing with a friend.
