My name is Thomas, and I am the father of Novak, who is 9, and he has a rare genetic mutation coupled with autism. I came across QTrobot online and engaged with the company staff and realized that QTrobot is following the same teaching methods that our son is currently working with, so we decided to have the robot.
It’s great that, first of all, the whole program is supported by staff that are really available. We have online meetings about every five to six weeks. Once we feel that he has mastered the lessons we are working on and we see the data on the online platform, we engage the team and have discussions with the specialists who review the progress and show us what to practice next.
For us as parents, it’s great that we can see him now asking for QT. What’s great is that he actually listens to QT’s instructions with us prompting, and he responds to it whether it’s verbally or non-verbally. And this is a big difference, and he enjoys the sessions very much.
We see the difference when, for example, I haven’t worked with Novak for some time; when I do, I notice that lessons previously difficult now have a higher number of correct answers, likely because my wife was working with him with QT for the past week. This shows the progress, and as I said, you can see from the data that the percentage of his right responses is increasing.
We took QT on holiday with us for a couple of days because it’s something that our son enjoys, and if there’s some free time in the day, he happily sits down and works with us.
There are many lessons in the software, and it’s really great to have the talk with the staff and get help from them about the progress. So there is always room to work on and to keep the momentum and continue his development. And we are very happy with our decision.
